Why You’ll Love It
If you haven't seen these insanely delicious hawaiian roll garlic bread bites on my instagram feed, then prepare yourself, yall.
If you're the type who gets weak in the knees for golden brown garlic rolls and gooey dipping sauce, you're gonna fall hard for this one.
It’s the perfect combination of crispy edges, fluffy sweet Hawaiian rolls, and rich, cheesy goodness—and the best part? It only takes a little effort to make, which means it’s ideal for a last-minute side dish or an easy appetizer that still feels fancy.
The garlic butter mixture is spiked with fresh garlic, olive oil, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of parsley for freshness.
Once you dredge the Hawaiian rolls in that garlicky goodness and fry them up a skillet (like french toast!), they crisp up beautifully while the inside stays pillowy soft—hello mind melting deliciousness!
Serve them hot with my parmesan cream sauce (or a shortcut Alfredo from your local grocery store), and you’ve basically created cheesy garlic bread heaven.
Whether you're making these for a cozy dinner, a crowd-pleasing snack, or a TikTok-worthy cheese pull moment, this garlic bread Hawaiian roll situation is about to be one of your favorite things.
Ingredients & Substitutions
These cheesy garlic bread bites might use simple ingredients, but they’re bringing big flavor energy to the table. From fluffy sweet Hawaiian rolls to a garlic butter mixture that’s loaded with parmesan cheese, this is one of those easy recipes that feels way fancier than it is. Don't forget to get the exact measurements from the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls: These light and fluffy king's hawaiian rolls bring a hint of sweetness that balances out the savory garlic butter perfectly. Plus, the shape makes it such a fun unique twist on garlic bread.
- Salted Butter: Melted and golden, it’s the rich base for our garlic butter mixture.
- Fresh Garlic: I love using grated or finely minced garlic for max flavor, but you can leave it out and only use garlic powder if you’re in a pinch.
- Parmesan Cheese: Adds salty, nutty flavor and helps the rolls get golden brown and toasty.
- Italian Seasoning: A quick way to get those herby vibes without digging through your spice rack.
- Garlic Powder: Just adds extra garlickly goodness! You could also use garlic salt, just make sure to leave out the salt elsewhere.
- Fresh Parsley: Adds brightness and a pop of color—feel free to skip if you don’t have it or used dried parsley.
- Kosher Salt: Just a pinch to balance everything out.
- Olive Oil: Helps thin out the garlic butter so it coats the rolls evenly.
- Parmesan Cream Sauce: Use my recipe or your favorite store-bought Alfredo if you’re looking for a shortcut.
- Optional Additions: Feel free to stuff these little fluffy hawaiian rolls full of mozzarella cheese if you want to be even more extra!
How to Make It
This is the kind of last-minute side dish that delivers major mouth water moments with barely any effort. With a few easy steps and a hot skillet, these garlic bread Hawaiian rolls come together faster than you can say “Aloha".
- MAKE THE DIP: Start by making the parmesan cream sauce from my website—or grab a fresh Alfredo sauce from the store if you're in a rush.
- PREP THE ROLLS: Use a sharp knife to separate the sweet rolls and trim off the sides and bottom edges to expose the soft, fluffy inside.
- MAKE THE GARLIC BUTTER MIXTURE: In a shallow small bowl, rimmed plate, baking dish or tiny baking sheet, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, fresh parsley, kosher salt, and olive oil until smooth and emulsified.
- DREDGE THE ROLLS: Dip each roll into the garlic butter mixture, coating all sides - including the top of the rolls. Work in two batches so the rolls get evenly coated without overcrowding.
- TOAST THE ROLLS: Heat a large cast iron skillet or frying pan over medium heat and add the first batch of rolls. Cook for a few minutes per side until each piece is golden brown and crispy, turning as needed.
- REPEAT: Remove the first batch and repeat with the second, adding more garlic butter if needed.
- SERVE & DIP: Serve immediately with the warm cheesy dip and watch everyone lose their minds. These garlic bread Hawaiian rolls are best eaten hot and fresh!
- SAVE: If you somehow manage to have leftovers, pop them in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a preheated oven or air fryer to bring back that golden brown crispiness.
