This 3 ingredient honey mustard is one of the easiest salad dressing recipes you can make. It’s basically a 1:1:1 sauce recipe that's perfect for dipping, drizzling and marinating!
What is 3 Ingredient Honey Mustard
Ah, 3-Ingredient Honey Mustard, my friends, is the little black dress of condiments—classic, versatile, and oh-so-easy to whip up.
To make it, just grab that grainy mustard, a dollop of dreamy honey, and a spoonful of your favorite mayo.
Mix 'em up and BAM!
You've got a sauce that's ready to mingle with everything from crispy chicken tenders to a gourmet charcuterie board.
It's that quick fix that transforms "meh" into "YAAAS, gimme more!"
So go ahead, drizzle, dip, or slather—it's the kitchen BFF you didn't know you needed.
Ingredients and Substitutions
- Mustard - I recommend using either grainy (my personal favorite) or dijon. You could also use yellow mustard but I don't think it's as good.
- Honey - No real sub for honey in honey mustard but I guess you could use maple for maple mustard!
- Mayo - You can use any sort of mayo you like. I prefer Duke's or Kewpie mayo.
How to make it
Making my 3 ingredient honey mustard is literally as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Just add everything to a small jar and then stir together until combined.
Keep the honey mustard in an airtight container (I use an old jelly jar!) in the fridge
If you want more or less of the recipe, it's very easy to scale. The recipe is basically 1 part honey, 1 part mustard and 1 part mayo.
What goes with Honey Mustard
This mustard is perfect with fried chicken, drizzled on a salad, or even tossed in a pasta salad.
I recommend making it for my Prefect Turkey Croissant Sandwich, the best ham and cheese crescent rolls, or my a classic deli-style turkey sub.
Frequently asked questions
What is honey mustard sauce made of?
Honey mustard sauce is made of honey, mustard, and mayo. The mayo may seem unexpected but it makes it super creamy!
Can honey mustard go bad?
Mustard might seem like it's forever, but let me spill the tea: even that sweet n' tangy honey mustard has a "bye, Felicia" moment. If it starts smelling funky or looking suspect, trust, it's time to let it go.
Should honey mustard be refrigerated after opening?
Once you whip up your honey mustard, treat it like the queen it is and give it a cozy spot in the fridge—keeping it chilled and sealed helps maintain that saucy goodness for the long run.
