A Teriyaki Tuna Tostada is a delightful fusion dish that combines the rich flavors of teriyaki-marinated tuna with the crispy texture of a tostada shell.
It starts with succulent sushi grade tuna, marinated in a savory and slightly sweet teriyaki sauce.
The result is a tender and flavorful fish that pairs wonderfully with the crispy tostada shell.
This tostada is topped with a creamy avocado, and a drizzle of spicy mayo, adding layers of texture and taste.

Ingredients and Substitutions
- Ahi Tuna Steaks - You could also use sushi grade salmon.
- Teriyaki Sauce - I love Bachan teriayki sauce because it's so flavorful and the texture is so good. You could use any type of teriyaki sauce.
- Scallions - Chives also work.
- Spicy Mayo - You can either make your own or use the recipe below! If you don't like spicy mayo, just leave it off.
- Smashed Avocado - I love smashed avocado with a little bit of lime juice and salt -- Simple but perfect. If you don't like avocado, just skip this step.
- Tostada Shells - I buy these from the store but you could def make your own or swap them out for soft tortilla shells.
- Toasted Sesame Seeds - Totally optional and can be left off if you don't have any. They're mostly for a finishing texture.
- Cilantro - If you don't like cilantro, just leave it off.
How to make it
Making tuna tostadas is super easy!
First, you'll want to preheat yoour oven to 400F degrees to toast the tostadas later on.
While it's warming up, Add the tuna, teriyaki sauce, scallions and a pinch of salt in a small bowl. Mix together and set aside.
Now you should make the spicy mayo by mixing mayo, sriracha, sesame oil and a pinch of sugar.
You could totally also use store bought spicy mayo.
Then it's time to make the smashed avocado by mixing together crushed avocado, lime juice, cilantro and salt.
Once everything's prepped, you can stick the tostadas on a baking sheet and place them in the oven for a few minutes until toasty and hot.
Then it's time to asemble the tostadas.
Smear each tostada equally with the smashed avocado, then add a few spoonful of the teriyaki tuna.
Finish with a drizzle of spicy mayo followed by some toasted sesame seeds and a sprinkle of cilantro.

Ingredients
Teriyaki Tuna
- 12 oz Raw Ahi Tuna Steaks
- ¼ cup Teriyaki Sauce
- ¼ cup Scallions chopped
- 4 Tostada Shells
Spicy Mayo
- ¼ cup Mayo
- 1 teaspoon Sriracha
- 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
- ¼ teaspoon Sugar
Smashed Avocado
- 2 whole Avocados
- 1 Lime juiced
- 2 tablespoon Cilantro chopped
- 1 hefty pinch Salt
Optional Toppings
- Toasted Sesame Seeds
- Cilantro
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F degrees.
- Mix together tuna, teriyaki sauce, scallions and a pinch of salt and set aside.
- Make spicy mayo by combining all ingredients in a small bowl and mixing.
- Make smashed avocado by combining all ingredients in a bowl and mashing.
- Place tostada shells on a baking sheet and place in the oven for 4-5 minutes or until tostada shells are warm and crispy.
- Top each of the tostadas shells equally with guac, teriyaki tuna, spicy mayo, toasted sesame seeds and a sprinkle of cilantro.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
