This ricotta crostini appetizer is one of my favorite easy summer entertaining recipes! It takes about 12 minutes to throw together and can easily be made vegetarian by leaving out the prosciutto.

What is Ricotta Crostini?
I'll just be over here, serving up some sun-kissed summer vibes with these Ricotta Crostini!
Each one of these colorful tasty things is topped with gooey hot honey, sweet fresh peaches and delicate slices of salty prosciutto!
For added goodness, I like adding a lil piece of fragrant fresh basil and flaky salt.
Each bite blends creamy ricotta, crispy crusty bread, the sweet heat from honey-glazed peaches, and that perfect salty touch from prosciutto, transporting you straight to a beachside cafe where flavors dance and waves crash.
It's the kind of easy, yet posh, dish you whip up when you're looking to impress but want to keep it chill, because after all, summer's all about effortless glam, right?
Ingredients and Substitutions
- Baguette - You can also buy pre-made crostini to make your life even easier!
- Olive Oil - This is to crisp up the bread but honestly any oil or even butter will also work.
- Ricotta - Fresh whipped Ricotta spread is just so light and sweet but if it's not really your thing, try goat cheese, burrata, whipped feta or even boursin cheese. To whip your ricotta, just stir it up vigorously until it's light and fluffy.
- Peaches - Any delicious summer fruit will pretty much work. Peaches not your thing? Try strawberries, plums, or even cherry tomatoes.
- Basil Leaves - Basil leaves add freshness and flavor but if you don't like basil, just leave it off or try swapping it for cilantro or even mint.
- Prosciutto - If you're not the prosciutto type you can leave it off to make it vegetarian or swap it for another cured meat like speck or salami. Or you could try mortadella. .
- Flaky Salt - Regular salt works in place of flaky salt if that's what you've got,
- Hot Honey - This is just spicy honey. If you don't like heat, try it with regular honey.
How to make it
Making these easy whipped ricotta spread crostini is a total breeze.
You'll want to begin by preheating your oven to 450F degrees.
Once the baguette is sliced, place each round on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
Place them in the oven and bake for 5-8 minutes, checking often until the crostini are golden and crispy.
Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Doing this will also help them harden so they don't get soggy.
Once they're cooled, top each baguette round with about 1 heaping tablespoon of ricotta or whatever cheese you'd like to use.
Now add a half slice of prosciutto to each one followed by one basil leaf and one slice of peach.
Before serving, place each piece of ricotta crostini on a serving platter.
Add a generous sprinkle of flaky salt and finish with a drizzle of hot honey.
Enjoy!

What goes with Ricotta Crostini
These lil sweet ricotta toasts with Hot Honey Peaches & Prosciutto, I'd start with my Asian Avocado Salad, dirty martini pasta salad or even a Burrata caprese.
I'd also pair this dish with a tasty avocado grilled cheese, cheesy baked buffalo chicken meatball skillet, truffle smash burger grilled cheese or try my creamy Caramelized Zucchini Pasta.
For dessert, I suggest my easy 4 ingredient nutella fudge or my easy no bake key lime pie.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best bread to use for the crostini?
Honey, the crustier the better! I suggest a fresh baguette, sliced diagonally for extra flair and crunch. You could also use ciabatta if you had some!
What if I'm not a fan of prosciutto?
No biggie! Swap it out with smoked salmon or even roasted veggies for a veg-friendly twist.
How ripe should the peaches be?
You want them just right – sweet and juicy but not too mushy. Think of a peach that's ready for its close-up!
