Ingredients & Substitutions
You only need a few simple ingredients to make these cheesy, buttery leftover turkey sliders that everyone loves during the holiday season. And it's a great way to use up leftovers if you've got 'em!
- Salted Butter: Melted butter helps bind the brown sugar, Dijon, and Worcestershire into a sweet and savory glaze. You can use unsalted butter if you prefer.
- Brown Sugar: Adds a caramelized sweetness that balances the tart cranberry sauce.
- Dijon Mustard: Brings a little tang and depth to the butter sauce.
- Worcestershire Sauce: Adds that rich, umami flavor. You can also use soy sauce for a similar punch.
- Crushed Rosemary: Dried or fresh both work. This flavorful herb adds a festive holiday aroma to these cranberry turkey slidrse.
- King's Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls: These sweet hawaiian rolls are perfect size and texture for these mini turkey sandwiches. Soft, buttery, and perfectly sweet.
- Roasted Turkey Breast: Use leftover Thanksgiving turkey, deli turkey, or sliced turkey breast from the grocery store. My delicious butter roasted turkey recipe that uses compound butter is a great choice if you're looking for a whole turkey recipe... but I never have leftovers during our thanksgiving meal because it's so good! And if you dont like turkey, try a different deli meat like ham!
- Stuffing: Leftover stuffing adds moisture and tons of flavor to these cranberry turkey sliders.
- Cranberry Sauce: If you've got leftover cranberry sauce from your holiday party go for it! Cranberry jelly or cranberry relish also works beautifully.
- Brie Cheese: I used brie because it's a melty cheese and rich and goes great with turkey and stuffing! But if that's not your favorite cheese, you can use Havarti, Swiss, Provolone cheese or cream cheese.
- Optional Additions: Poppy seeds can be added on top for more texture on these cranberry, turkey and cheese sliders! You could also add ½ a teaspoon of onion powder or garlic powder to the brown sugar mixture if you wanted.
