These asian instant pot ribs are super easy to make and they taste amazing! They're finished with a sweet and sticky glaze and topped with cilantro and scallions for added freshness!
Instant Pot Ribs
These asian bbq ribs are sweet and sticky and full of flavor! You'll love how the meat falls off the bone in under an hour, too!
I created them as part of my Hawaiian BBQ Mother's Day party and they were a huge hit! I recommend pairing them with my mom's famous hawaiian macaroni salad. And if you'd like a tasty cocktail, try them making this colorful sunrise rum punch.
Oh, and shameless plug, my grilled cheese cookbook makes an excellent Mother's Day present!
But let's get back to the subject! Since I wanted these spare ribs to have an island flare, I created a quick recipe for an asian rub and bbq glaze. Both components add so much flavor and take no time at all. But of course, if you don't want them asian themed, you could use whatever dry rub and bbq sauce you'd like!
How to make Ribs in the Instant Pot
This is my favorite way to cook ribs easily and without much planning! All you have to do is follow the basic methods below.
- Massage dry rub into ribs.
- Set up the trivet in the bottom of the pot and add ribs upright, on top.
- Add about 2 cups of liquid to the bottom of the pot.
- Turn on high pressure cook for 25 to 28 minutes (longer if you want them more tender).
- Let the ribs naturally release.
- Remove ribs from and place on a foil lined baking sheet.
- Smother ribs with bbq sauce and either grill or put under the broiler on each side for a few minutes.
- Enjoy!
