Ingredients & Substitutions
- Marinara Sauce: You can swap out marinara sauce for your favorite tomato sauce recipe. I love Rao's but you choose whatever fits your taste buds!
- Goat Cheese: If you're not a fan of goat cheese, you can make this recipe with ricotta, boursin, feta cheese, burrata or mozzarella. But goat cheese has the most flavor and I highly recommend it!
- Pepperoni: If you don't eat pepperoni, you can leave it off or swap it for another thinly sliced charcuterie of your choice.
- Olive Oil: You can swap olive oil for another neutral oil of your choice like avocado oil.
- Hot Honey: You can either make your own hot honey sauce using my recipe or you can buy some from amazon. Regular honey also works just add a pinch of red pepper flakes on top!
- Fresh Basil: Fresh basil is the best and i do not recommend swapping it for something else.
How to Make it
Making this pizza dip recipe is super easy! It's one of the many reasons why I love making this dip when I'm short on time and ingredients.
Preheat Oven: preheat oven to 400F degrees.
Create the Base of the Dip: Add marinara to a cast iron (I’m using the Our Place cast iron but you could also use a medium sized baking dish 12” is prob best. Top with goat cheese and and pat down to create a flat surface. Then top with pepperoni.
Bake the Dip: Bake for 25 minutes then finish under the broiler for about 5 or until the pepperoni start to crisp up.
Finish with Basil & Hot Honey: Remove from heat and drizzle with hot honey and basil before devouring!
