Strawberry Nutella French Toast Bake
This strawberry nutella french toast bake is the perfect easy breakfast recipe. All you need to make this french crepe inspired sweet breakfast casserole is fresh strawberries, nutella, french toast batter and hawaiian rolls.
Ingredients
For the French Toast Batter
- 3 large Eggs
- ¾ cup Half & Half
- ¼ cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- ½ teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
For the French Toast Casserole
- 1 12 count package King's Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls
- 1 cup Nutella
- 1 cup Fresh Strawberries sliced
- 1 tablespoon Powdered Sugar for dusting (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Freeze Dried Strawberries for serving
- ½ cup Whipped Cream for serving
- Maple syrup for serving
Instructions
- Make the batter. In a medium sized bowl, beat together eggs, half n half, cinnamon and vanilla extract and set aside.
- Make the sliders. Cut the sweet rolls in half and smear the bottom half with Nutella and top with strawberries. Place the top half of the sliders back on.
- Prep the Baking Dish. Grease a baking dish with butter then add the stuffed sweet rolls. Pour the French toast batter over the top of them and let it soak in for at least 15 minutes or cover and place in the fridge overnight.
- If baking them right away (after resting for 15 minutes), then place in the oven at 350F degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and 160 F degrees in the middle.
- If baking after resting overnight, cover with foil and bake at 350F for 30-35 minutes. Remove the foil after the first 15 minutes or until golden brown and 160 F degrees in the middle.
