Ingredients and Substitutions
- Maple Syrup - I used the artificial syrup because that's embarrassingly what I like and what my kids eat but you can absolutely use the real stuff.
- Dijon Mustard - If you don't have regular dijon mustard, you could use honey mustard and use less syrup so it doesn't get too sweet.
- Apple Cider Vinegar - Feel free to swap to another vinegar like red wine vinegar, champagne vinegar or even white wine vinegar.
- Shallot - If you don't have shallots, you can sub garlic.
- Kosher Salt - Kosher salt works best for cooking. I don't recommend using table salt in this recipe.
- Fresh Pepper - If you dont have fresh cracked pepper, you can use regular ole black or white pepper.
- Mellow Olive Oil - You don't want too flavorful of an olive oil otherwise it will take over the salad. I used Graza's drizzle because it's not as potent as the sizzle variety.
