This easy sausage gravy and biscuits recipe was something my Grandma would make every weekend. It's a southern recipe that's super easy to make with minimal ingredients.
Add 1 lb of sausage to a cast iron (im using my @ourplace cast iron!) over medium high heat. Use a spatula to break up the sausage.
Once it’s crumbled and cooked through, add the flour and stir - making sure that the flour evenly coats the meat. Cook for 2-3 minutes until flour taste is cooked out.
Add half n half and scrape the bottom of the pan to get the little tasty bits back into the gravy. Let simmer and bubble for 5 minutes until thickened. Taste and season with salt and pepper
At this point it’s ready to serve, but if it thickens up before the biscuits are ready, you can loosen it with some more milk or a tiny bit hot water.
To SERVE: Spoon gravy over split biscuits and top with scallions, pink pickled onions and hot sauce!
