This chicken bacon ranch grilled cheese is what happens when you combine the holy trinity of comfort food! This sandwich is a flavor-packed twist on the classic grilled cheese that’ll make every bite feel like a warm hug from your childhood.
Why You’ll Love It
This Chicken Bacon Ranch Grilled Cheese Sandwich is the ultimate comfort food mashup that’ll satisfy every craving.
The creamy ranch dressing mixes perfectly with melty sharp cheddar, while smoky bacon crumbles and tender shredded rotisserie chicken take things to the next level.
On the outside, crispy buttery bread holds everything together. Every bite is buttery, golden, and packed with flavor—plus, it’s ridiculously easy to make.
Whether you’re whipping it up for a quick lunch or indulging in a late-night snack, this sandwich is a total crowd-pleaser that delivers all the cozy vibes.
Oh, and best of all, it’s made with simple ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. Let's get to it, shall we?!
Ingredients & Substitutions
- Cheddar Cheese: Since this recipe is originally from a sponsored instagram post, I recommend using Land O Lakes® Sharp Cheddar Farmstyle Shreds: These shreds melt like a dream and add that sharp, cheesy tang. You can swap for another cheese like mozzarella, muenster, colby jack or pepper jack cheese.
- Bread: Use large, sturdy slices that can hold up to all the cheesy, meaty goodness. Sourdough or thick-cut white bread or even texas toast works beautifully.
- Bacon: Crumbled bacon brings smoky, savory vibes. Turkey bacon or even plant-based bacon can work if you’re looking for an alternative.
- Rotisserie Chicken: The ultimate time-saver! Shred it up for juicy bites of protein. You can use any cooked chicken if rotisserie isn’t your jam.
- Ranch Dressing: Creamy, herby ranch is the glue that holds this sandwich together. Feel free to sub with a yogurt-based ranch or a spicy buffalo ranch if you’re feeling fiery.
- Garlic Powder: A hint of garlicky goodness ties all the flavors together. I do not recommend raw garlic as it will be too overpowering.
- Salted Butter: For that golden, crispy exterior. Unsalted butter works too—just add a pinch of salt.
How to Make It
MIX THE FILLING: In a large bowl, combine the shredded cheddar, cooked crumbled bacon, ranch dressing, shredded chicken, and garlic powder until everything is evenly coated and mixed.
ASSEMBLE SANDWICHES: Spread half of the filling on one slice of bread and the other half on another slice. Top with the remaining slices to create two sandwiches.
BUTTER THE BREAD: Evenly butter the exterior of each sandwich with salted butter.
COOK TO PERFECTION: Heat a large frying pan over medium-low heat. Add the sandwiches and cook for a few minutes on each side (about 5-7 minutes) until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
LET IT REST: Remove from heat and let the sandwiches rest for one minute before serving. This helps everything set up so you don’t lose any of that melty magic.
