Gruyere Grilled Cheese
This Gruyere grilled cheese recipe is made with onion jam, salty butter and thyme. It tastes just like a french onion grilled cheese sandwich but made in only ten minutes!

4 slices Sourdough 2 tablespoon Onion Jam 1 8 oz block Gruyere grated 2 tablespoon Salted Butter 2 pinches Dried Thyme
Get Recipe Ingredients
Smear 1 tablespoon of onion jam onto 2 seperate slices of bread.
Divide the gruyere in half and then place each half on top of the onion jam.
Place the other two slices of bread on top.
Butter the exterior of the bread then finish with a pinch of dried thyme onto each side.
Place the sandwiches in a large nonstick pan or cast iron skillet heated over medium.
Cook for a few minutes on each side, flipping once, until both sides are golden brown and all the cheese has melted.
Remove from the heat, cut on a diagonal and enjoy!
