Instructions

  • If you're making everything from scratch, the first thing you'll want to do is prep the ingredients. Start by making the coleslaw, then the pickled red onions, then the homemade bbq sauce. You could also use your favorite store bought versions of these items if you don't want to do it all homemade!
  • Warm the pulled pork. You can either heat it up in a large pan over medium heat with half of the barbecue sauce OR spread it out on a baking sheet and drizzle with bbq sauce then crisp it up under the broiler.
  • Meanwhile, split your hawaiian rolls in half and butter the interior of the bread. Place the rolls on a baking sheet and evenly sprinkle the garlic salt on top. Place them under the broiler for a minute or two until they're golden brown.
  • Once everything is ready, assemble the sandwiches. Lay the toasted bottom buns on your serving platter then top with the hot shredded bbq pork. Next, add half of the remaining barbecue sauce, the coleslaw, pickled red onions and candied jalapenos.
  • Add a sprinkle of flaky salt. Then smear the remaining bbq sauce on the interior side of the top buns and close up the sandwiches before serving.
