This fig tart with honey whipped goat cheese is one of my favorite recipes. It’s perfect for brunch, breakfast, entertaining, appetizers and more! I love it because light and fresh yet rich and creamy. I like recommend it with balsamic glaze, basil and flaky salt. And if you’re not a truffle fan, simply leave it out!
Add goat cheese, heavy cream, honey and truffle oil to a food processor or blender and blend for 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy.
For the Fig Tart
Preheat your oven to 400F degrees.
Place the thawed out puff pastry on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
Use a sharp knife to score a “frame” around the perimeter of the puff pastry to create a crust/filling area. Now take a fork and poke holes in the middle of the puff pastry.
Add 1 egg and 1 tablespoon milk to a small bowl and whisk. Brush this mixture over the top of the puff pastry to create a shiny golden crust.
Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown then remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Once cooled, add the honey whipped goat cheese to the middle of the puff pastry and smooth it out.
Top with the fresh figs, a drizzle of balsamic glaze and fresh basil.
Cut into squares and finish with a sprinkle of maldon salt if you have it.
