Shortcut 1905 Salad
If you're from Florida, you know that 1905 Salad is one of the most iconic dishes of our state! This hearty salad, originally created by the Columbia Restaurant, is so flavorful and delicious. It's made with iceberg lettuce, ham, swiss, tomato, olives, romano cheese and a super amazing dressing. And although I share the link to the original dressing recipe, I also share my family's shortcut for creating it!
Ingredients
- ½ head iceberg lettuce roughly chopped
- ¼ lb swiss cheese roughly chopped into small squares
- ¼ lb thick cut deli ham (such as tavern ham) roughly chopped into small squares
- 2 medium vine ripe tomatoes roughly chopped
- ⅓ cup pitted spanish olives roughly chopped
- ¼ cup romano cheese (or parmigiano) grated
- ½ cup garlic expressions
- 1.5 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- ½ lemon juiced
Instructions
- Add lettuce, swiss cheese, ham, tomatoes, pitted olives, romano cheese to a large bowl.
- Top with garlic expressions, Worcestershire Sauce, and lemon juice.
- Give it a good toss and taste. Add more salt and some fresh cracked pepper if needed.
- Eat immediately and enjoy!
