Ingredients

Instructions

  • Pour half of the brown sugar, half of the crushed pineapple, and half of the cinnamon in the bottom of a dutch oven, crockpot, or instant pot.
  • Place the ham on top and gently separate the layers. Add the mustard to the ham and rub it in. Then pour the crushed pineapple on top and work it into the slices. Add brown sugar and sprinkle the top with the remaining cinnamon then pack it on.

For the Dutch Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 300F then simply follow the instructions as written but prepared inside of your dutch oven. If the lid doesn't fit on the dutch oven, use tinfoil in its place.
  • Bake for about 2 hours or until the center of the ham reaches 110F degrees. Place the ham on a serving platter to rest.
  • Meanwhile, place the dutch oven with the leftover brown sugar pineapple mixture on the stove top over medium heat. Simmer the sauce over medium-high heat for about 15 minutes, stirring often to avoid it burning, until the sauce is reduced, glossy and slightly darker. Pour over the ham before serving.

For the Crockpot

  • Follow directions as written but inside of the crockpot. Lock the lid of crock pot and turn the heat to high for 3-4 hours. (3 hours for a 6 lb ham and 4 hours for a 10 lb ham - 3.5 for anything in between! ) You just want the center to reach at least 110 degrees since it's precooked. (If the ham is too big for the crockpot, you can replace the traditional lid with a few sheets of tinfoil.
  • Once the ham is done, place it in a serving dish and pour the remaining juices in a large sauce pan. Simmer the sauce over medium-high heat for about 15 minutes, stirring often to avoid burning, until the sauce is reduced, glossy and slightly darker
  • Pour the saucy glaze on top of the ham before serving.

For the Instant Pot

  • Simply follow the directions as directed but when you go to lock your instant pot lid, leave the the venting nodule "ON".
  • Press the slow cook button on high heat and set the timer for 3 hours. Let the instant pot natural release then remove the lid and place the ham on a serving dish to rest
  • Meanwhile, press the simmer button and simmer the pineapple brown sugar sauce for 20 minutes, stirring often, or until the glaze is thick and syrup-y. Pour sauce on ham before serving
