Ingredients

  • 3 cups self-rising flour sifted
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 11.2 oz bottle room temp dark beer (I used Guinness)
  • 1.5 cups grated cheese, divided (I used Irish Cheddar but any medium-hard cheese will work)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
  • Meanwhile, add the sifted self-rising flour, sugar, and salt to a large mixing bowl and stir. Stir in the room temp beer and continue stirring until the batter is thick and fluffy - like bisquick.
  • Set 3 tablespoon of the shredded cheese to the side. Stir the rest of the cheese into the batter.
  • Grease two loaf pans and divide the batter between the two.
  • Sprinkle the reserved cheese over the top two loaf pans and bake in the oven for 1 hour.
  • After an hour, remove the loaf pans and let cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing or serving.

Notes

If you don't want cheese, simply leave it out and continue the recipe as written.
