Honey Bourbon Chicken

This delicious honey bourbon chicken recipe is inspired by the classic foodcourt dish at the mall! It’s stick, sweet, savory and tender. I love pairing with mashed potatoes and greens for a quick and easy dinner.

Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 2 large Chicken Breasts (or about 1.5lbs thighs) cut into small chunks
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoon Neutral Oil

Honey Bourbon Glaze-

Instructions

  • Add cubed chicken to a large bowl and toss with paprika and salt. Let this rest and come to room temp while you make the sauce.
  • In another bowl, combine all the ingredients of the honey bourbon glaze and whisk together until smooth - making sure to dissolve any clumps of corn starch.
  • Once both components are ready, grab a large fry pan and heat it over high. Once heated, add oil followed by the chicken.
  • Cook the chicken for a few minutes until it’s golden brown and doesn’t stick to the pan. Turn the pieces to get the same sear on the other side.
  • Once seared and golden, pour the honey bourbon glaze in and stir.
  • Turn the heat to medium-low and cook for 3-5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is thick and glossy.
  • Turn the heat off and stir in brown sugar and salt.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

If you want it to be more liquidity like the food court, add ½ teaspoon corn starch instead of 1 tbsp. Also, it will taste more like the mall variety if you use brown sugar instead of honey.
