Ingredients

  • 1 Florida Grapefruit cut into ¼" sliced
  • 3 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 1 avocado diced
  • 4 tablespoon goat cheese
  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoon salted butter

Instructions

  • First, remove the skin from your Florida Grapefruit. Then slice into ¼" thick slices and pat dry. Place on a baking sheet and sprinkle the brown sugar onto each slice.
  • Next, you can either put the baking sheet under the broiler for 5-10 minutes, checking every few minutes, or until the grapefruit has been candied. Or you could use a kitchen torch and brulee each slice until golden and crispy.
  • While the grapefruit is caramelizing, butter both pieces of your bread and place it in a pan over medium-high heat. Toast both sides until golden brown and set aside.
  • Once the grapefruit is done, smear each piece of bread equally with the goat cheese and equally distribute the avocado on top.
  • Next, fill in the empty space with the bruleed grapefruit and enjoy!
